Are you attending #ILSHRM12?

On Sunday, August 5 we will kick off the 13th annual Illinois State Council of SHRM Conference with a workshop focused on Talent Management conducted by our friends at Talent Net Live (TNL). The next two days to follow ending with keynote Libby Sartain at 4pm on Tuesday promises to be outstanding and I for one hope to see you there!

As someone who has attended almost all of the state conferences here in Illinois, I can confidently recommend this years event as top notch! And that is not because I am the ISC-SHRM director. It is because I have personally witnessed the outstanding thought leadership of many of our concurrent and keynote speakers over the years. In addition, since I am active on social media, I have the opportunity to see what genius these folks put out all through the year by way of speaking engagements, blog posts, ebooks, and published works. For example, Talent Anarchy who is back this year by popular demand just published a book called Social Gravity that I am personally dying to read. Since the SHRM bookstore will be set up, I along with have my chance to pick up my copy.

My absolute favorite part of this conference is the networking. I love to see and chat it up with all our fabulous HR pros in the state as well as personally meet our speakers. I hope you will consider joining me and the rest of #ILSHRM gang at this years conference and exposition. By the way did I mention we have 50 vendors who will be sharing their wares and handing out lots of sought after swag? Don't miss it! Go to our site today and register! Www.ilshrm.org. The following is the latest details from our fearless leader, John Jorgensen, Conference Director:

13th Annual Illinois SHRM Conference
 August 5-7, 2012

We are mere weeks away from what promises to be another dynamite Illinois State SHRM Conference.  As always, we have scheduled powerful and dynamic keynotes, all with tremendous reputations as thought leaders in our industry.  Where else can you hear Simon T. Bailey, Cy Wakeman, Libby Sartain and, back by popular demand, the duo of Talent Anarchy, Jason Lauritsen and Joe Gerstandt, in one place over the period of two days at a reasonable price?
We have a tremendous line-up of nationally known concurrent speakers, many of whom are SHRM Annual Conference speakers, on a wide range of topics from how to use social media and technology for HR and recruiting to new thoughts on diversity to employee engagement and retention.  Many of the sessions are designed to keep your HR knowledge on the cutting edge of the profession.   New this year – we are excited to announce ILSHRM will be hosting a TalentNet Live event on the afternoon of Sunday, August 5th.  This event is an opportunity to explore the future of social recruiting and bringing the latest innovation to the world at work.  We are pleased to be able to offer our community some of the brightest & influential minds in the Social Recruiting & Human Resources industry today.
The Conference qualifies for up to 11.25 recertification hours, both general and those all important strategic credits! For the first time, TalentNet Live has been submitted for HRCI credit.  In transition? What better way to network with other HR colleagues.
Let's not forget the vendors who cannot wait to share what they can do to make your job easier.  We are hosting an exhibitor scavenger hunt with a prize that you won't want to miss – free registration to next year's annual SHRM conference being held right in our backyard – Chicago, IL.
This is easily one of the most affordable events of its type in the country.  Don’t miss out on an opportunity to be educated, entertained and enthralled along with hundreds of the best HR folks in Illinois and states beyond.  For registration or more information, visit our conference page at www.ilshrm.orgAnd as an additional encouragement, the early bird rate will be extended until July 9 to make an affordable event, even more affordable.
See you in August at Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook Terrace.
